People encounter many emotions during their entire lives. The spectrum of experiences varies from joy and sorrow, freedom and bondage, beginnings and endings, life and death. It is not a relative or any other member of my immediate family who first taught me about the bitterness of death at the early age of 10. Neither was it my mother who whispered and secretly taught me about this inevitable part of life.
It was a girl named Julie.
Julie Pearl Apostol Postigo is more popularly known as Julie Vega–a movie actress, a teen icon, a soap opera princess. She had everything going for her during the late 70’s and early 80’s. She’s young, pretty, and very famous. She started in showbusiness at the age of 3 and went on to conquer the movie and TV industries in no time. She was also able to release one song album before she passed away on the 6th of May in 1985 at the tender age of 16.
Looking at her life, I have come to realize a very great lesson–a life that’s fully-lived need not be long. She only had sixteen short years to live yet it was a very colorful life (full of achievements and love from people who care for her). I can’t say that she could have done more with her life. If If had what she had then, I would be content.
Many people are snatched from living their lives early on yet the majority that they leave behind live on placidly. It is sad to see beautiful people like her move on but it is more sad to know that the living go about their daily lives oblivious to the things that matter most. Look back at people like her and ponder. Where am I headed to and who do I take there with me? When things go uncertain, move on. Remember Julie.

Hi Elena,
Looking forward for the e-Book of Julie Vega. She’s been my SUPER FAVORITE child actress during my high school days. How can I forget those lovely and angelic eyes , no one in the world of showbiz has. Pretty, pretty face. EXTRAORDAIRE, that is! I remember, all my notebooks are covered with Julie Vega’s different photos/poses, Her photos alone. Up to now I still misses her that sometimes I search for her photos and everything that remembers her in the net and eager to hear her songs once again. Songs like : Somewhere in my past, First Love, Etc. Goodluck to you, I hope you will give justice on her life story. Thanks so much!
