The Strength of a Single Mom

Elena Shella Villamor, EzineArticles.com Basic Author

Not a lot of women, nowadays, are blessed with a good relationship with their partners; and when the relationship becomes more complicated as a child comes along, most women just prefer to let go rather than to live bitter lives.

There are hundreds if not thousands of single moms globally. The statistics can be so alarming but no one is here to point fingers at anyone or to debate with any particular moralists. Just think of it this way, what could a single mom do to be able to handle parenting single-handedly? How do these single mothers survive without the aid of a man in their lives?

There are many great women who suffered from bad marriage and who had to be the mom and dad. There are also some who did not even bother to go through a marital relationship when they saw the rottenness of the partnership early on. Still some just became pregnant and the father of the kid went running on the opposite direction!

These are all tragedies that some women go through. And when they are suddenly faced with the task of being a single mom, they just toughen up and, somehow, do the job. These single moms work for their kids; they even find time to attend school functions; they spend quality time with the kid(s) as much as they can; they teach values to their kids; and many more. These are equally great and strong-willed moms (as the ones that have better halves!).

To all great moms out there, kudos to you all!

  1. thanks Elena!

  2. Raising kids on your own is def one of the hardest jobs EVER, but the good out weighs the bad (most of the time)! Thanks for the recognition!

  3. i can relate to this article! thanks!

  4. Both single moms and single dads suffer. It’s best if marriages vows such as, “for better or for worst” is still honoured by both partners. Thanks.
